What to Bring
If you are staying in the hospital overnight, we encourage you to bring your own personal care items such as soap, shampoo, combs, mouthwash, toothbrush, shaving kits, sanitary pads/incontinence products and tissues. Please speak to your nurse or the unit coordinator for more information. Consider the following items:
- Please carry all your previous medical records and investigation reports related to the treatment
- Your health card
- Your current medications, including vitamins and other non-prescription drugs
- Please bring limited luggage, as storage space in Cloak Room is limited for each patient.
- Personal wheel chair are available, if required.
Valuables
Valuables such as cash, credit cards, jewelry and expensive clothing should be left at home. If you have valuables with you, please ask a family member or friend to take them home for you. The hospital is not responsible for personal property brought onto the premises.
Be involved in your health care
Patients and health care providers are partners in health care. Here are five common sense tips to engage patients in their own health care:
- 1. Be involved in your health care. Speak up if you have questions or concerns about your care.
- 2. Tell a member of your health care team about your past illnesses and your current health condition.
- 3. Bring all of your medicines with you when you go to the hospital or to a medical appointment.
- 4. Tell a member of your health care team if you have ever had an allergic or bad reaction to any medicine or food.
- 5. Make sure you know what to do when you go home from the hospital or from your medical appointment.
Patient Rules and Regulations
- 1. Strictly follow the NO SMOKING policy within the hospital premises. Smoking and chewing tobacoo is an offence and will be taken very seriously.
- 2. Ensure that all your visitors / relatives / attendants strictly follow the visitor timings as instructed. Please reduce the number of visitors into the patient treatment / admitted area, because it may lead to infections and complications furthur. Only 1 attenders are allowed for each patient and Hospital is not responsible for any other complications in-spite of instructing.
- 3. Kindly reduce the noise levels inside the hospital, shouting / talking loudly is prohibited. This gives privacy and safety of other patients and staff which helps in speedy recovery.
- 4. Weapons, flammable material, alcohol are strictly prohibited within the premises. Please reduce the use of electronic gadgets like mobile phones / other communicating devices mainly nearby patient area. These may produce non-ionising radiations which can cause harm to the patient.
- 5. Treat hospital staff, other patients, and visitors with courtesy and respect. Man-handeling / abusing / mis-behaving with staff members or other patients will be handled very seriously. Talk politely with staff members during processing your reports or in admission.
- 6. Provide complete and accurate information of your insurance / claims, have patience and work with the hospital for processing claims and ensure to make payments, if the claim is denied.
- 7. Pay for services billed in a timely manner as per the hospital rules and seek clarification if you have any concern. Please don’t give money or other valuables to any of our staff. The billing is only authorized for staff in reception / front desk. Hospital is not responsible for any loss / mis – understanding.
- 8. Be aware that the estimations given for the services / treatment plan are approximate and are likely to change accordingly with type of service / duration of treatment / stay or category of bed changes.
- 9. Respect situations when the medical condition of another patient may become more urgent / worsen, respect the doctor’s ability to judge and accept the fact that the Doctor may need to attend that patient first.
