LAB TEST

Cardiac Package

This panel of diagnostic tests and a specialist consultation is designed to evaluate key aspects of cardiovascular and metabolic health, critical for early detection and management of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and kidney dysfunction. The Random Blood Sugar test screens for glucose abnormalities, while Serum Creatinine assesses kidney function. The Lipid Profile provides insights into cholesterol levels and heart disease risk, and the ECG evaluates heart rhythm and function.

A Cardiologist Consultation ties these results together, offering expert guidance on diagnosis, treatment, or lifestyle changes to optimize health.

Types of Tests

Complete Blood Count (CBC)

This test measures various components of blood, including red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets. It serves as a broad screening tool to assess overall health and detect conditions such as anemia, infections, and hematological disorders.

Random Blood Sugar

This test measures blood glucose levels at any time of the day, regardless of fasting or meal timing. Normal levels are typically below 140 mg/dL; higher values may indicate diabetes or prediabetes, prompting further evaluation.

Serum Creatinine

Serum Creatinine measures the level of creatinine in the blood, a waste product filtered by the kidneys. Normal ranges are approximately 0.6-1.2 mg/dL for adults; elevated levels may suggest kidney impairment or dehydration.

Lipid Profile

This test assesses cholesterol levels, including total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), and triglycerides. Abnormal levels, such as high LDL or triglycerides, increase the risk of heart disease.

ECG (Electrocardiogram)

An ECG records the heart’s electrical activity to detect abnormalities like arrhythmias, ischemia, or prior heart attacks. It’s a quick, non-invasive procedure that provides critical insights into heart function.

Cardiologist Consultation

A consultation with a cardiologist involves reviewing test results, discussing symptoms, and assessing cardiovascular risk. The specialist may recommend lifestyle changes, medications, or further tests based on findings.

What Should You Know Before The Test

These tests, including blood analyses, organ function assessments, and imaging studies, provide a comprehensive evaluation of your health. They help detect conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or infections early, enabling timely intervention and better health management.

Preparation varies by test. For fasting tests like Fasting Blood Sugar or Lipid Profile, avoid food and beverages (except water) for 8-12 hours. Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding medications and inform them of any health conditions. No special preparation is needed for non-fasting tests like ECG or Chest X-Ray.

Most tests, such as blood draws, urine tests, ECG, and Echocardiogram, are non-invasive or minimally invasive and generally painless, though you may feel a brief pinch during blood collection. The Chest X-Ray involves low radiation exposure, considered safe for most individuals.

The tests can typically be completed in a few hours, depending on the facility. Blood and urine test results are often available within 1-2 days, while imaging results (e.g., Chest X-Ray, Echocardiogram) may take a bit longer. Your physician will discuss results during the consultation, usually scheduled soon after.
